Shower The Baby

The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge for this week is  "Shower the Baby."  Create a project that has something to do with a baby shower. Example; invitation, gift, baby album etc..

This is my baby shower invitation for a boy's baby shower.  I didn't put my real address or phone number on this one to put up on the internet - for obvious reasons. :-)

The card is postcard style.  Measures 5x7
The stop sign, telephone poles and road signs are on George
The Truck, Baby Shower, It's a Boy are on New Arrival
The Road is on My Community
The little birds and the grass are on Create a Critter

The truck is shadowed and pop-dotted.  The clouds are cat-eye liquid chalks. The back of the card is computer generated with the name of the baby and parents, where they are registered and other pertinent information.

I also did this wall-hanging of round frames of our grandson Ellis. I'm going to keep adding the round frames until his first birthday in a few months.

Four round frames cut at 5 inches using the Paper Pups cartridge for the double round cut out frame.
Lyrical Letters for the Font

Computer generated saying:
A baby has a special way
of bringing joy to every day

Started with a square of paper measuring 6 x 6 square and cut a 5 inch circle. I welded the letter to the circle in DS but if you don't have DS just cut out  out the letter to the size you want it, mine is 3 inches.

I printed the pictures on my picture printer so I could size the actual photo the way I wanted it.
I used some old DVD's for weight
Trimmed the photo down to size
Punched the holes with my Crop a Dile II Big Bite, which punches easily through the DVDs.  Added buttons, twine, a little red bird and some blue ribbon.

He really does bring us daily joy!

What's your baby project??  Join us at Fantabulous Cricut and link up your design.

Going Around in Circles

This card is completely circles.  Made it for the Going Around in Circles challenge at Charisma Cards. The flower petals are folded circles.  Circles for the layering inside and a circle charm brad in the middle with a circle paper clip to which I tied the bow.  Circles on the inside for the sentiment and room to write.   This was a fun challenge!

Flowers for May

Challenge #11 at Fantabulous Cricut is Flowers for May.  Create a project using at least 3 flowers on your project.
I love walk in my garden.  All these flowers from there.  The center pink flower I used the Cricut Markers on to trace arounde the leaves and then cut it out.  I then curled each of the leaves with my fingers.  Similar techniques on the other flowers .  I LOVE flowers so this was a fun card to make.

Add in a few brads, stickles and  I looked at my card and said, this is one I would like to receive.  No sentiment inside as I haven't decided if I will send it to anyone. :0)

Pig In Out

This morning I woke up with two card designs on my mind.  My kids were coming in from the U.S. today and I had already cleaned up and put away everything in my work station.  But, I couldn't help it, I HAD to get it out of my head, which was good because it took up the "waiting" time to go to the airport.

Howdy

This S- card from Create a Critter
Back

No one can deny that I would rather do a funny or slightly funny card than a serious card.  I figure there is enough serious in the world that having a smile or a chuckle is worth the effort.  Plus, there aren't enough Man cards.  So, this one for a special sick little guy on my Cricut Card Fairy list.

Bags, Boxes Bonanza and Black - Fantabulous Cricut

For the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge this week we were to make a bag or a box and use the color black on it.  I used this retired pillar box pattern from Stampin' Up (here)

I cut the panels using George with the trapezoid shape  The flowers from Walk in My Garden at 2.5 inches and 1.5 inches cut twice each in cardstock and then twice each in vellum.  The butterfly is a punch I got at the $1 store.  The tag is Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.
On the opposite side, I used the bee from Walk In My Garden cut at 1.5 inches and layered.  I reversed the color of the trapezoid panels on this side.  I put chocolates in my box and tied with a ribbon and added the tag which I stamped with a stamp I got as a gift.

Hope you enjoy.  I'd love to see what you do.

Under the Sea

Made this little charm bracelet for my niece.  Cut each of the animals from Create a Critter.  They are all sea animals, except the hippo, I just liked the hippo and her little flower on her butt.  The bracelet I got at a craft store, it's just a silver "add a charm" braceler.   Each of the characters are cut at 2" on shrinky dink material, colored, hole punched and baked.  Added some seashell beads.

BRIDAL SHOWER

This item for a bridal shower.  The groom has a red truck.  Made with New Arrival for the Truck and Wedding solutions for the windshield and tailgate.

Truck cut at  4.5 inches 4 times in black
Truck bed is small Whitman's Chocolate box bottom (could be small jewelry box)

Hood and top of truck cab measures 4" by 5.5"

The cans are loop brads with the prongs cut off, ribbon roses bumpers are rolled up gray paper and attached with glue dots. It turned out pretty cute, I think.  I submitted to the Cricut Chirp.  Who knows if they will like it enough to publish it.  But, it is wedding season. We'll see.

You're Toast!

I heard this little pun on a radio show and thought it hilarious.  So today, I got out my From The Kitchen cartridge and this came out:

From My Kitchen Cartridge
Pooh & Friends Font

You're amoozing

I've been grazing all day long.  You know, one of those days where you just eat all day and not much at any one time.  Then when I looked at Create-A-Critter, I saw the cow and thought of myself! Ha! This is the card that came out.  It's not a crop circle.... A crop heart?  Grazed her way into the "heart" land. :0)  bah ha ha!!!

I made this couch for a bird  house setting, but then I thought it might make a nice shape card, so I made it larger and made the little pillows for it.

CRICUT CRAWL- FANTABULOUS CRICUT

Welcome  to the "Fantabulous Cricut Crawl"...our version of a blog hop!

If you've come from visiting NANA at You Unique Reflections you're in the right place!  If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start here.

For our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, each Design Team member will be featuring a specific element related to using your Cricut.   There will be prizes along the way AND there will be a grand prize for the participant that incorporates the most featured elements on ONE project!!!  How fun is that?

The element I've chosen to feature for the crawl is...

Shadow

When selected, this Feature creates a larger shadow image of every letter, shape, or phrase that is selected. When the Shadow Feature is active, the Shadow key will be backlit in green and stay lit until you depress it.

TIP: When sizing a Shadow to fit a letter, shape, or phrase, use the same dial size thatwas selected on the base image or original letter. Example: If you’ve cut a 2-inch “A” and you now want a Shadow of it, keep the Size Dial set at 2 inches just press the Shadow button.

TIP: Using just the Shadow by itself creates a chunky version of the original font.  Sometimes it's good just to use the shadow if you need fatter letters.

Now from Create A Critter, here is a tag project from beginning to end using the shadow feature on the frog.  Create a Critter is probably the easiest cartridge I've ever owned for layering!

Now it's your turn!  Use the Shadow feature on your project.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!
The prize for my blog is a $20.00 gift certificate to Custom Crops. Link your project to Fantabulous Cricut using the Shadow feature for a chance to win! While you're here, leave a comment and become a follower for another chance to win!

Next stop..
Robin'sblog at Robin's Creative CottageGo see what Robin has in store for you today...  And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!  Try to see how many elements you can add to your project!!!

Happy Crawling!
