What can I say but I think it turned out as cute as I imagined it.  I'm going to give it to our building maintenance manager (Portenia in Italian)  and his wife filled with chocolates for Easter.   I also submitted it to the Cricut Chirp, but who knows if it will be selected or not.

A tribute to my followers

When I first started blogging I took note of all the fun "Blog Awards" and wondered how and if I would EVER get one.  And I was blessed 3 times.  So I want to dedicate this award to all my followers.  If you put the award up you are supposed to give it to 10 other people.  So please pass on the love!

When you are a small blogger with less than 100 followers not that many people are looking at you and it's hard to get blog awards.  Don't let that stop you! Take this one from me and smile big.

Have a happy day!

Announcement finally out! - Easter Bonnet Parade

I stayed up until 2:00 am to watch the My Pink Stamper Live to see if I got one of the designer spots I tried out for.  I didn't, but CONGRATS to the winners.  Now I can post one of my cards that I sent in.  I understand she is going to have a gallery of photos, but I don't think that my little pun cards would be in it.  It was really fun to try and think about being a designer, but I'm almost relieved that I didn't get it!  Oh the anxiety.  I'm truly happy for those that made it and not sad a bit about not making it.  There are lots of places to try!  So, now it is nearly 4:00 am, I have headache,  I'm going to post my card and go back to sleep.

I FOUND OUT I MADE THE PINK STAMPER TOP 100 GALLERY!!! Here is the link to her blog and the new gallery. This card was the one that made it in there! Yippee!!!!
MY PINK STAMPER GALLERY

So, when I made this card all I could think of was the song, "If I could write a sonnet about an easter bonnet...........la lala lalalalllaaa, Easter Parade. :0)  So I thought where would they hang their hats after the easter parade?  Then the pun came along and WAHLAH, one of my kind of cards developed.

I've been reading a lot and listening a lot these past few weeks.  Listening to books while I work makes me very productive.  I'm currently listening to the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin.  Interesting. I thought I would get ahead on some of my cricut cards so here's what I produced today while listening.

This first card is a direct scraplift from Lisa over at Scrappin in NJ, you can see her card HERE.

Made two of these.....

Heard you feel like a Giraffe with a sore throat.
Hope you feel better soon.

If I had Wings......

The challenge at the Cuttlebug Spot is "If I had Wings, What would I be...."  Easy, I'd be a Fairy.  I'd NEVER be an insect as anyone in my family would instantly attest to. At Cricutters Anonymous (Formerly Just Buggin') the challenge is "Form of a Woman."  Of course, I would be a woman fairy.   This card is busy with Spring, a very happy card for someone on my Cricut Card Fairy list (another reason to be a Fairy). I had a lot of fun making this card.

The fairy is the woman pushing the baby carriage on New Arrival.

At Practical Scrappers the challenge is to use something that is more than a year old.  No problem there, I had this purple ribbon since my oldest son got married six years ago.  I've had the Mary Engelbreit stickers for two years or more.  I just kept looking at them and wondering what to do with them so they sat in the drawer.  I've had the stamps and the rhinestones a long time too.  The doily package I've had for years, but I just opened it.

So even though all the stuff is old, I needed to put them on something new to me (my stipulation).  I looked for a new fold and found a card someone had done for a baby that was three tags joined together.  I used that model for my own design of pocketed tags.

My DH leaves comments on my cards at night while I am sleeping.  He is currently in Kuwait.
He hated the purple ribbons at the top and said it was like trying to look through a forest.  When I got up this morning, I decided he was right and replaced the ribbons with buttons and I like it SO much better.  Hurray for dear husbands!

For the children

It's so sad to me when we have children on the Cricut Card Fairy list.  This past week we've had a couple.  One that got bitten by a dog and one that has lukemia.  This is the one that I made for the one that has lukemia and will be in the hospital for some time.  It's a tent card, another new fold for me. YAY!

Boy from New Arrival - Cut off his arms and legs so they could stick out of the hospital gown.
Hospital gown and Bunnies from New Arrival - the hospital gown was the onsie, I cut the bottoms off.  For the bunnies slippers, I just cut off their heads.

The IV pole is made from the lower case L on George, the Parentheses on George and the coat hanger on New Arrival, the wheels are holes punched in black.  The Sun is from George.  The IV bottle is a tag from George sized really really small.  The head rag is made from the cylinder and two hearts on George.
I used DS for the welding and sizing.
I drew in the background sketching.

This card was pretty easy to do even though my description sounds difficult.  You just have to picture cutting up the baby to make him what you want...... sounds cruel. :-/

Onward and Upward,

No Cats Allowed

Another thing I dreamed about.  The living room for the birds.  I made the couch and the chair in George and drew in the lines.  The birds are from the Easter 2010 and Lyrical Letters.  The Chandelier is from Home Decor.  The bird house and Sunflower from SYI. Bird house cut at 5"  So everything else had to be sized way down in DS.  It was so fun imagining what to put in a bird living room, I imagined they would grow sunflowers for seeds.
