Gorgeous Blooms
My walls are so empty here in Italy because we couldn't waste our packing space with things like Wall Art. So, I made my own! Lately, I have been wanting to decorate with some spring encouraging colors, so I made this flower garland to go over my bed and put some color on the white, white, walls.

Coffee Love
This is a peanut can. My husband loves coffee. We live in the land of Espresso and even though he likes those he MISSES American coffee. So when I found his favorite Nescafe instant coffee that he can use on the road, I was so excited. I made this little Valentine gift and put the coffee along with some sugar packets and some hot chocolate in the can. The handle comes off and the lid can pop on so he can throw the can in the suitcase and take it with him.

There's Too Many Kids in the Tub
My sister sent me this Shel Silverstien poem to make into a card to help me through my "card-block." Jeannie Phillips posted a card with a bath tub in it on the same day! Thanks Jeannie for reminding me of that cut from New Arrival.

Warm Winter Bunnies
Warm winter bunnies with love. The bunnies are digi stamps from Bee Crafty.
I'm just learning about digi stamps and I had a blast coloring this one. The picture doesn't do the rabbits justice because the white pen I used has texture that you can feel and I blended in the grays. The interior is Allison Pennington papers and has a light blue with white dots print that matches the ribbon.

Darkest Before the Dawn
Created this butterfly tree for someone on the Cricut Card Fairy List. I saw a painting like this once with the gradient colors and thought I would try it. I printed the gradient color paper on my computer. The tree from SYI. Butterflies from Walk in my Garden.
It was a butterfly day. Still working on the first one though since my husband thinks they look like bats.

The Next New Thing
Crafting is nothing if not the next new thing. Where would the craft business be without it? And, I would be bored without it. (smile) This is my S card another differing fold from my norm. PLUS it has many many layers of textures, ribbons, papers, etc. I'm usually a simple girl. I like a simple (usually funny) message and a pretty simple card. However, since I got my cricut, I've tried more and more difficult things and a menagerie of contrivances.
Last night while talking with my DH, we discussed how peer groups never go away. They are just different and older. I covet some of the talents of my fellow card makers and long for this new thing or that new machine. Really growing up though is learning to hone your own craft and be challenged to make it better. I'm really grateful for the Cricut Message Boards, fellow crafters and challenges that teach me to be better at my craft.

My First Easel Card - Whimsical Trees
Sticking to my new year's resolution to try new things, I have done my first easel card. I loved the look of them, just didn't have an interest I guess. But, I've done one and it's really fun and I can see the appeal for doing them and receiving them. This card I dreamed about, whimsical trees. I used four cartridges for this one. George, Home Decor, Lyrical Letters and Joys of the Season. The tree trunks are the letter I from Lyrical letters. I made about a dozen trees before I settled on these three. I liked them all, but they wouldn't fit. :0)

Before I left the States I bought this Bill Nye The Science Guy paper making factory. I always wanted to make my own paper and use it for cards. Little did I know how hard it would be to make good USEABLE paper. It's easy to make paper, just hard to make it good. I finally got a sheet or two that I could use and made this card. I'm pretty happy with it.

Just Making Cards
I had school today and I've had so much homework that I haven't had time to just make cards. I got two finished today to send out for the Cricut Card Fairies. My NEW cow digi stamp was created by Austin Light .www.austindlight.com There are no cricut cuts on either of these, they are just squares and ribbon and other embellies.

Hide the Message
My Mom turns 65 this month. My parents are still so young and I wanted to make my mom a fun card. I really like that flowerpot card thing and I've started looking where I could "hide the message" in all kinds of cuts. Some don't turn out so well and I end up scrapping them before I even finish, but I like this one. This party hat has a message inside, the back part of the hat pulls off to reveal the note. It says, "Happy Birthday, Have a Great Day, Happy Birthday." (hard to see in the lighting of the second pic.
