Owl Be There For You

I've never really liked owls, but I saw this pallet of colors in my book and decided to use it.  It turned out adorable for these owls! The little white tag had a star on it which goes with the starry night,, wispy winds, and crazy colors. It was really fun to make this card.

The inside says, "Owl Be There For You" reflecting the colors used on the front of the card.
I used Just Because Cards, Paper Doll Dress up and Serenade. and Marvy Le Plume markers. I added those little googly eyes because I like them.  The paper was from a weird mixture of paper that I picked up at Tuesday morning. Patterns are really hard for me, but these papers were easy and all on the color wheel.

Seize the day - Happy Birthday Nuts

I often see things differently and have a funny take on the literal and the funny.  This is my card with that twist of funny.

I made the silver nut out of a stop sign on My Community.
The squirrel and acorn is from Create a Critter
Sentiment on the outside I printed on the computer.
Inside arrows and heart and Happy Birthday to you

Have a great day!

Baseball 47 Days

Count down to Baseball.... pitchers and catchers are reporting now.  And my DH LOVES baseball.  In fact, when we got out of the Navy, he intended to go to Umpire School, but it didn't work out.

Now, the real reason for this card is that I used to play baseball and I LOVED it.  I was playing as a center field, when the ball got lost in the lights and it hit me in the face. Breaking bones in my face, began 2 years and  3 surgeries.  My husband was gone on 6 months deployment.... and I had my 3 sons to take care of .  They were sitting in the crowd while I was playing.  One of the guys on the team put a baseball cap over my face so it wouldn't scare my kids.

I really looked horrible.  The doctor took a picture of my face so that when I facial rebuild he could show me that picture to show that he had only pizza to work with.  And he was right, there was a crater in my face where the ball landed.  I can laugh about it now!!  Laughing is important to me.

Bring it on baseball.  Cheering for the Texas Rangers all the way!

.One other thing.  I make cards that make me happy, then I look for a challenge that fits it.  I think most people do it reversed.  But that's not me.

For the love of a tree.

My husband loves trees.  He stands and admires them, takes tons of pictures of them and consciously tries to plant them.  I wanted to do a valentine that honors that.  This is what I did with some scraps, Summer Celebrations cartridge, gold pen, white pen and washi tape.  It made me happy.  Especially the little bird in his bird tree house.
