Pineapple Guys

This card is a cut from the Cricut Access cuts.  It's my first pop-up card.
I used prisma pencils to color it in and give it dimension that this picture doesn't fully show.

I made an envelope and lined the inside to go with this aloha card.
I'm sending it to my grand-daughter, Ruby, in Hawaii.

 At Fantabulous Cricut

Challenge #279-Patriotism  is to create a project that features Patriotism for any country.

My contribution is this star garland.  It was on the cricut "make it now" page.  It was very easy although tedious to thread all those stars.  I made two pages of each color, red, white and blue.  I had enough to make 4,  5 ft garlands and then some!

I took the extras and added them to the wall with small thumbtacks and there  is no doubt that I'm ready to celebrate the holiday.  I can't wait for the fireworks to go on sale!

Sun & Surf

Over at Cut It Up Challenges

the Challenge #98 is
Sun & Surf

So on the Cricut site, there is a picture of the sea coming out of a frame, there's a ship on it, etc.  I loved it, but changed it up to make it mine.  The sea coming out of the frame on the card, I used vellum to give the waves,  sun and clouds an airy feeling with several layers.

I used the opposite cuts and some seagulls to decorate the inside of the card.

The Saying:
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea,
Drink the wild air's salubrity

is from Merlin's Song by Ralph Waldo Emerson

I had to look up the word salubrity which means drunkeness.  The actual poem is VERY long.  I decided to rhyme the drunkeness and make it "be free."

Father's day card

I usually try to surprise my dad with some kind of difficult cutting on the Cricut.   This year, I just did a simple card with lots of DIFFICULT layers to attach.  I've been working with cricut for a long time now and those of us who are cricut fans, know how the layers don't always line up perfectly.

The drill is from the handyman cartridge.
Cricut Explore did the writing for me.
Brads and pop up tape

I had a number of little card-stock greetings from a quilling kit I no longer use. I reused a background paper from a card someone sent me.  I keep those and try to reuse what was sent instead of just throwing them away.
I know my dad will like this along with the gift card inside.
Happy Father's day!
