Forms of Light

When my husband travels, I am free to craft with abandon!  Meaning, I don't have to clean everything up right away.  Which, I am sure, he would beg to differ.   I can hear his voice in my head, "Like you ever really clean all that crafty crap up anyway."

I combined some of my doodle techniques along with cut files - forms of light ~~.   I love to doodle.

Circle from Cricut Basic Shapes 4,5 inch diameter
Moon from Create a Critter
Smile and eyes from Create a Critter

I used a macro lens to catch the close-up doodling on the picture above.
The one below reflects the light colors of the paper on the black background of the card.

Up, up and away

I did not come up with this idea, Geekfactor12, over at the Woot derby came up with the idea for a screen print on a shirt.  With his permission I tried to create it on paper and I really like it.  So did he!

The balloon cut is from Pop Up NeighborhoodTrees from Stretch Your ImaginationAll other cuts were from Cricut Font and Basic ShapesEverything was cut in white and colored with Copic markers.

Simple card

I'm trying to improve my card making skills by going back to the simple.
This pup from Paper Pups cartridge.  He's holding a big flower from Walk in My Garden.
The puppy is cut 8 times and layered, the flower is cut 3 times and layered, then I added stickles. Once the stickles were dry, I added the outline with my .05 Micron pen.

The inside left of the card has a single cut of the pup waving through a window.  On the left you can see how thick the layers of the pup were on the outside of the card.
5.5x4.5 card base.
Nice card for men or women.

Create something New everyday

My friend, Laurie, gave me a T-shirt with this saying on it.  Create Something New Everyday.  It's the kind of saying that's been around a long time, but when she saw it, she thought of me and I think that is great.  Still working on Christmas.  Here is what I made this week...............
This little cosmetic bag, or ditty bag is made out of the bottom of an old pair of blue jeans.
These little felt flowers I made, have clips on them, so they can come off as the decoration and fold the lip up and clip them to the top and throw it in your other bag or suitcase.  The bag sits on a folded and sewn bottom, but I made a little insert bottom out of cardboard and covered with the blue jean sewed over it.
DH was impressed.  I made this in a little over an hour.  It was super easy.  Another gift for the Christmas party at church.

Christmas.............in August

I took on this burdensome task at my church.  It is the annual Christmas Dinner.  It's the largest single thing attended other than worship.  I've done it for 3 years.  The last 3 years I've organized entertainment from performing people in the congregation, showcasing their mostly unseen talents. This year, I decided to go totally different and showcase the crafts and artistry of people in the congregation.  Boy is it hard finding those people.  Anyway, I have to have over 300 gifts for the party, so I've been trying to create something new everyday.
