Winter Snow Shaker Card

Another first for me.  I'll tell you, I'm starting this new year with gusto trying things I've never done before because I thought they would be too much trouble.

We recently had snow in Texas.  I survived the Texas Winter - January 6-8, 2017

This focal image is Cricut cut is Aspen Trees from the Dimensional Paper Art Cartridge
I lined the back of the trees with a medium blue and then chalked a light blue over the lower half of the focal point.

This shaker card material requirements:

  • White card stock
  • Dark Blue card stock
  • Medium Blue card stock
  • Light Blue card stock
  • clear transparency/acetate sheet
  • foam tape
  • high-tack, double-sided tape

  • Aspen Trees Image
  • turquoise ink
  • chunky glitter
  • snowflakes

My outer square was lawn fawn thin die cuts in successive sizes

I progressively measure inward to create each frame and then sewed the frames together Cut window/acetate sheet slightly smaller than outside dimensions of frame. Line frame with high-tack, double-sided tape and peel release liner from tape. Place window sheet onto back of frame and burnish well.

I then added a white dot at each 5th stitch and began adding the outer snowflakes.

Inside of the card all ready for a sentiment like:  "Baby it's cold outside" or "Brrrr" or "Let It Snow."

This shaker card was easier to make than I thought it was going to be.  I'm glad I did one!

Valentine Mailbox

I wanted to do something special for our Children's Minister at church.  Valentines Day is only Single Awareness Day for her.  I thought I could get the kids at church to fill this up with valentines and chocolates and let her have a nice Valentines despite being single.

This was a larger project than I thought it would be.  It actually measures 12" high.
It has a box that fits up in the middle that can be removed to take out all the goodies.

It's a new year!  2017!

The Happy New Year is from the new Cricut cartridge I bought, Celebrate With a Flourish.  The girl is Flowers Behind My Backabella a die cut and stamp I bought from #StampingBella.  It's the first time I've used this die-cut or colored it.  I practiced my coloring on this piece.  The Sending You flag is from #CloseToMyHeart

Sympathy Cards are Hard

Sympathy cards are so hard because you know that it represents a death or loss.  One wants to be creative, but respectful.  This is my effort this week.

This is a Cricut cut from Serenade.  The bird is from Cricut cartridge Heritage
I used a With Sympathy stamp that I had made for me at Stamping Out Loud
The Embossing folder is Hearts & Whimsy

The Sorry For Your Loss stamps is from #CloseToMyHeart
I feel good about this card for who it is going to, a friend, who lost her father.
