My father has been very ill and I've been pre-occupied with that and the research on his condition. And, we had our first grand-daughter, Ruby Claire Light, delightful event!! But to shake myself out of the traveling bug, I joined a card exchange. 20 cards to exchange, all occasions.
This is what I sent. Lately, I've been into recycling. I cut images from other cards, or papers, bits of a pattern I liked, etc. and creating new cards from them. I also used some Jolee stickers, cricut cuts from Joys of the Season, Paper Pups, Coloring pages, Create a Critter, stamps from Close to my Heart, Brads from Just Brads and various scrap supplies. Now, doing this many cards at once, was fun, however, I couldn't get myself to create the more difficult cards like, Easel, Flip, Pop up, Step, etc. They are just traditional cards. It's harder getting back in the swing of things than a thought.

Apron Strings
Before my sister moved, she had been sewing some of the most beautiful aprons you have ever seen. She was making a little extra money on the side, but she was using it up in creativity and fun (don't we all.... barely pay for our habit. ha ha ha). She is also an avid gardener, leaving beautiful plants behind every time the military moves them. I made this card for her to be the first piece of mail she got in her new home. She loved it. Now, I'm sharing it.

I've been reading a lot and listening a lot these past few weeks. Listening to books while I work makes me very productive. I'm currently listening to the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. Interesting. I thought I would get ahead on some of my cricut cards so here's what I produced today while listening.
This first card is a direct scraplift from Lisa over at Scrappin in NJ, you can see her card HERE.

Brazil Blues
Tom is off to Brazil and so I am alone..... and keeping busy as best I can with creating cards. I'm behind in the Cricut Fairy Army cards and so I had to get several done. Plus, I had signed up to do a challenge on a blog and I didn't read the instructions right. I created the Flaming O card and it wasn't about Flamingo's, it was about using ready-made embellishments. So, I started over, but since I am "blue" all I could think of is how much some flowers would cheer me up. I don't think MY flowers would win a challenge, but I did enjoy them very much. I have several kids on the fairy list that need "kid" oriented cards. I'm not very good with that. I also have a man card that I have to work on. Those are the hardest.... do men really care about the cards that they get?? I don't have an answer for that... it's just out there.
Flower & Friendship Card for Challenge
The Friendship tag is chipboard and several of the flowers.
Some flowers are from George, added a corner brad.
And one for my nephew for Halloween.... Jolee's stickers and Lyrical Letters. The Happy Halloween is computer generated.

Monkey Fun (for a kid)
The Palm Trees are from SYI and the Monkey from New Arrival. I chopped him all up and turned him and flipped his parts to make him swing from the tree with a sign. I saw someone's card on the cricut boards where they had a stamp that looked like this. I don't have a stamp.
This next card I totally scraplifted from a card made with felted flowers. I just doubled up the paper then folded each petal. I don't remember where I saw the card or to whom to give the credit. I like it okay, it wasn't too hard to do and I can get it in the mail quickly. The colors are my favorite.

SCRAPBOOKING?

These are the first scrapbook layouts I ever did for a swap. I like doing my scrapbooks, but I don't do layouts like the professionals do. The cricut boards are filled with people who love the layered and layered and more layer pages. I like putting in pictures and the little things we saved like ticket stubs and little keepsakes. It's more a fun organization than a place to decorate and entire page for one picture.
