Hello

Hello.  On this card I was practicing color flicking, shading, gradients and blending.
These were things I learned in the Copic Standard Certification class. Which is exceptionally difficult when you are limited on Copic collections.  Most of the colors worked out well with my Italian Stabillo pens.  Even the two that I didn't like worked with the embossing on them.  I have to keep practicing and buying more Copics.

I used cartridges George and Basic shapes
Hello- Beyond Birthdays
Various stamps
Embossing folders - Divine Swirls
Floral Swirls

Pile It On #61 - Sentiment as focal point

Challenge #24--SERENDIPITY: March 2nd - April 5th, 2015

Serendipity means a "fortunate happenstance" or "pleasant surprise".

Especially if one knows that the other is having a rough time.
This is the most serendipitous thing I get to do.

This is the inside of the card, "hello."
 and Goodbye. :0)

Serendipity

Serendipity,  luck that takes the form of finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for...
This is how I feel about traveling.  We always know what the end destination is, but the journey is what makes it so wonderful. Tom and I have often found our home away from home along the way.  We've traveled all over the world with the U.S. Navy and Tom's current job with Tetra Pak.  It's so exciting to find out what you will love in the new place.  A positive attitude is what has helped when we have had to move from a place we truly loved, to find new things to love in the next place.
Enjoy The Journey

Inside the card sentiment:  Enjoy The Journey, which I did in Shrinky Dink. I love how the words turned out wiggly as if on a map of curvy roads.  Cartridge cuts from My Community and Create a Friend. Card stock from Hammermill White, Travel the World Paper pack, Le Plume pens.

Easter Cardz

I decided to go with a black bunny instead of the traditional white.  I saw them at the pet store last month and they were just so beautiful.  So, my Easter bunny is black with a sparkly puffy tail.

and then he stops to see a crazy chick with flower fluff.  Spring brings the new and the unexpected

Hello - Good Bye Birdie

Some bright flourescents and gelly pens and I have these hello birds on a fence.
The love of colorful wings.  This card is part of a set that I made for my mom for Christmas.  Some confessions..... when I was at my parents house while my dad was ill.  I swiped (borrowed without permission) some things from their house and used them as inspiration pieces for things I made them for Christmas.  I took a really pretty basket (except for the fact that some little kid had written their name across the top) painted it and used it to hold the things I made.  On my mother's shelf she had this little picket fence house.  So, a whole series of cards have picket fences.

Walk In My Garden

Inside is blank but paper lined.

Painting Bunny

This is my painting Easter bunny card.
I was really proud of my fluffy bunny tail.  I threaded some twisted twill through a button several times, tied them in knots and cropped the tine close to the knots.  It turned out just like I wanted.

My vision with this card started with a Easter bunny out painting his egg, standing on a ladder to reach the top with his brush.
And.... when it was all painted.....

He painted his way out of it and left his impression.
I crack myself up in little giggles when I start a story of a card.
